excuse my provincial language, but why in the fuck do so many Mexicans want to enter into this godforsaken country? T and I cannot wait to get the fuck out of here for good.

Business. Or shopping. Or just going to a park. See? Mexico is very beautiful and has everything you could ever possibly need, except along the border. Businesses here don't really thrive because everything you could think of selling, people can already get, cheaper, probably - because of the taxes involved in importing goods -, or better, or something, right across the border, so businesses fail. Parks are not a priority. Jobs pay more. Some people will work in the US and live in Mexico because the rent is cheaper here than what they could get in California, some people want their kids to go to a museum, or a library that has actual books/computers/videos in it, some people receive their mail in the US because it takes it so much longer to arrive here. All in all, this particular border is the busiest one in the world. When the border security got tighter right after 9/11, San Ysidro's businesses started dying a death, and I would suspect that started happening all along the border. There are a million different reasons to cross the border to the US, and I suspect there are just as many reasons to cross to Mexico.
Danny and I could never find clothes that fit here in Mexico. Or shoes. Of course they sell clothes in Mexico, AND shoes. But not in our sizes. So there you go.
